Red hot Juventus head to Rome to face struggling Lazio to start off week 15 of the Serie A.
Juventus is starting to find their form and are currently riding a 4 game winning streak in league play. The venom directed at manager Max Allegri has starting to subside as Juve find themselves just 5 points from a Champions League spot and 8 points from first place. His decision to slowly incorporate Paulo Dybala has proven to be a wise maneuver, as the young Argentine has hit his stride and is a key figure in the teams form. The 22-year old has scored 30% of Juve’s goals and has either a goal or an assist in 3 consecutive league matches.
Look for Allegri to maintain the 3-5-2 formation and keep Dybala up top and will likely be joined by Mario Mandzukic. It will be interesting to see how the manager decides to handle the absence of Paul Pogba, with Padoin, Asamoah, or Lemina to take his place.
While Juve are rising Lazio are in free fall. The capital club have dropped to 10th place and last tasted Serie A victory in October. There have been discussions of manager Stefano Pioli losing the locker room and of course the usual talk of sacking the underperforming manager. Additionally some questionable line-up decisions have sparked rumors of key players like Antonio Candreva being sold in the January transfer window.
Lazio will be without Senad Lulic, who suffered a freak accident in training where the top of his finger was chopped off. The team is lacking in options due to the plethora of injuries suffered this season. Pioli will likely lean on the veteran presence of Miroslav Klose to lead the attack at home, where Lazio have only lost once this season.
