Here is Italian Football Daily’s Serie A Team of the week for Round 14
Goalkeeper:
Pepe Reina (Napoli) – Was decisive and made three key saves to preserve the win for Napoli over Inter
Defenders:
Gabriel Paletta (Atalanta) – Was solid in the back, closing lanes and anticipating passes while securing the back line
Cristian Zaccardo (Carpi) – Played decent game defending with some minor mistakes but made up for it with a huge goal to give Carpi the victory
Andrea Barzagli (Juventus) – Helped Juventus keep a clean sheet, was solid and nobody was able to get through him
Emiliano Moretti (Torino) – Led the backline and made a key pass to setup Belotti
Midfielders:
Borja Valero (Fiorentina) – Was magnificent in his dribbling, scored and setup the viola attack
Giacomo Bonaventura (Milan) – Heart and sould performance, scored a goal and got a penalty while playing in his favourite spot on the left flank in a 4-4-2 like he did at Atalanta.
Giuseppe Vives (Torino)- Great with possession and inspires confidence to his team. Secures the win with the insurance goal.
Forwards:
Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli) – Was dominant and showed how the best defending team in Serie A (Inter) were unable to contain him
Mbaye Niang (Milan) – Wreaked havoc on the Sampdoria defence like a hot knife in butter, scored two goals and got an assist.
Cyril Thereau (Udinese) – Scores a brace and caused Frey to get an own goal, great performance
