Sevilla’s outgoing midfielder made it clear where he will be playing his football next season.
The Argentina midfielder is currently partaking in the Copa America Centenario in the USA, but will be an Inter player July 1st.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, Banega cleared entirely his future.
“I had a great time at Sevilla. I come from two fantastic years where we won two Europa Leagues and did quite well in La Liga. I had a manager I was familiar with in Unai Emery and he know how to bring out the best in me. I’m happy I leave him on good terms. I knew that with him I would have performed well. I took the decision to leave, it was difficult but opportunities must be taken. Am I off to Inter? Yes, we already have a deal and everything is official, we just have to wait now. I’m focused on the national team at the moment. I texted Zanetti for a bit, he was happy that I chose Inter but we didn’t speak about football on the pitch, we will get to that after the Copa America” via Eddie Benedetti.
Two Europa League titles later, Banega can bring a lot of immediate quality to a midfielder that has been about all what can become for Inter.
