The FIGC have announced Giampiero Ventura as the new coach of the Azzurri
The president of the Italian FA, Carlo Tavecchio, has announced that the next head coach of the national team will be ex-Torino coach Giampiero Ventura. The 68 year old tactician has coached scores of Italian clubs and has been doing so since 1982.
Outside of Torino, Ventura has managed most notably Cagliari, Napoli, Sampdoria, Messina, Bari and Verona.
This will be Ventura’s first time as an international manager, and will be responsible for bringing Italy to the World Cup in 2018.
Ventura’s official unveiling will take place momentarily followed by a conference.
