The Italy international has been linked with a move away from Lazio and the links with Chelsea should not surprise.
Antonio Candreva and Antonio Conte are working together right now at Coverciano ahead of the UEFA European Championship in France this month. However, Antonio Conte could request to his new directors at Chelsea to submit a serious bid. And according to ll Tempo, that’s exactly what has happened.
There’s a lot of discussion in the Lazio camp on who may be the new coach, with names like Ventura, Prandelli, Montella and Inzaghi (the current coach) being tossed around. However with no European play, Candreva could seek a move away to play in Europe next season, particularly if he does well at the Euros.
Lotito has asked for at least €25 million and Chelsea are accelerating talks for the Italy winger, it’s a perfect match for all parties as Chelsea have a much better chance of returning to European play than in respect to Lazio. This rumor is very possible given all the connections around the two Antonio’s. In addition to the fact that Roman Abramovich will open up the war chest in order to get his club back on track of being a title contending club.
Candreva has scored three goals in 35 appearances for the Azzurri, but his scoring record for Lazio has been much better. He scored 12 goals in 44 appearances this past season for a lackluster Lazio.
The #87 was heavily criticized by fans when he joined Lazio in 2013 because as a child he was a fan of city rivals AS Roma.
