Milan Interested in Roma’s Leandro Paredes

Milan are interested in Roma-owned midfielder Leandro Paredes, CalcioMercato reports.

The 21-year-old appeared in 33 matches on loan at Empoli this season, scoring two goals with an assist, via transfermarkt. The young Argentine spent last season as a key player for head coach Marco Giampaolo, who has been linked to Milan’s bench. He could follow Giampaolo to the San Siro.

Milan look to purchase reinforcements for a midfield that lacked creativity and cost them valuable points last season. Paredes could add that creativity missing but also provide defensive contributions with his aggression and “grinta” which was virtually non-existent in many rossoneri players.

The central midfielder is said to be valued at around 15 million euros, five million less than their purchase of Andrea Bertolacci last summer. The Italian giants look – and desperately need – to have a successful mercato to finally compete in Europe again.
