Roma Set To Sign Empoli Defender

Today could be the day that Empoli’s Mario Rui makes his way to Roma as the giallorossi are keen on him and would like to close a deal as soon as possible

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Roma want to find an agreement with Empoli over the transfer of Mario Rui today. They will look to negotiate with Mario Rui’s side in the same way Napoli did swiftly for Lorenzo Tonelli.

Empoli are currently asking for 10 million euros but are willing to lower their demands to 8 to 9 million euros. Roma, however, have offered 6 to 6.5 million euros but will likely include a youth player like Lorenzo Di Livio in the deal. In any case, the future of Mario Rui will be decided tomorrow.

The Portuguese left back has been a consistent performer throughout the past few seasons and has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Benfica and Atletico Madrid.
