Olympique Lyon’s prized 22-year old, Samuel Umtiti, remains one of the hottest commodities across Europe as several big name clubs keep close watch of the French international. AS Roma have shown interest but face stiff competition from Spain for his signature.
With the Euro fast approaching, many clubs will be on high alert for the latest young stars taking the stage in France. Les Bleus, ridden with talent, are considered a legitimate contender to lift the trophy. One of the young stars in the squad, Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti, has been discussed in rumors over the past few windows, but it appears as if we will see the 22-year old finally make a move out of Ligue 1 this summer.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Roma are interested in the prized defender, however it seems as if he will hold out for a dream move to Spain. Barcelona, the 2015-16 winner’s of the Copa del Rey and La Liga title, are expected to launch a pursuit next week for his signature, which could cost in the vicinity of 25 million euros.
Umtiti starred in 30 league matches for Lyon this past season and will look to impress France manager Didier Deschamps come June 10th v Romania.
