The former Cagliari and Pescara manager could end up back in Italy on the bench of a Serie A newcomer.
Zemanlandia might be reviving itself in Calabria. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Crotone are pondering the idea of bringing in attacking-minded manager Zdenek Zeman as their bench boss for their inaugural Serie A campaign. The Czech tactician spent this past season at Swiss Super League club, Lugano, securing them another year in the top flight on the final matchday. He also led the club to the final of the Schweizer cup where they fell 1-0 to FC Zurich.
Although Zeman is considered a popular candidate, the Calabrians main objective for the managerial role is Roberto De Zerbi of Foggia. His availability may depend on if Foggia clinch the final spot in Serie B next season and should it happen, it is likely De Zerbi sticks around for another year. It is also being reported that Pescara dream of a Zeman return to their club despite the current success under Massimo Oddo.
