Former Cagliari owner, Massimo Cellino, has been banned by the English Football League from being a Director or Owner of a Football Club following his conviction for non-payment of VAT. Cellino is currently the owner of Leeds United, who play in the English Championship, and earlier today had sacked Leeds’ manager Uwe Rosler after a poor run of results.
Cellino had sacked 6 managers in an 18 month period, leading to an overwhelming sense of insecurity in the dressing room.
Leeds United currently sit 18th in the English Championship, the Serie B equivalent of English football.
