Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for star man Paulo Dybala after the 2-0 victory over Lazio at the San Siro.
Dybala played a large part in both goals, firstly his thrashing volley across goal was turned in by Lazio defender Santiago Gentiletti inside the opening ten minutes. Then just past the half hour mark, he collected the ball 25 yards out and delivered a fantastic volley into the bottom corner past Federico Marchetti.
“Dybala had a great game with some superb goals, he is growing and has done very well to find space between the lines.” said Allegri of the 22-year-old after the win.
“It was not easy against a very dangerous Lazio line-up, and their midfield in particular. In the first half we put them under pressure but we tailed off after half-time.
“We have had a very busy period, and maybe this was tiredness setting in. Now me must push hard to extend this run.”
After a difficult start to the season, there has been much speculation around the future of the 48-year-old at Juve. He gave a very diplomatic response to these rumours in the post-match press conference: “It was a great night for the whole team – a perfect evening. My future? I have a contract with Juventus until 2017.”
The result keeps the Biancolesti fifth in the table, but only leaves them four points off Napoli at the top of Serie A.
Allegri’s men now face Sevilla away in the Champions League on Tuesday, before facing third placed Fiorentina a week on Sunday.
