Speaking on the back of the 1-0 win over Sweden, Parolo called today’s victory “deserved”
“I just touched the crossbar, it’s a shame, but what’s important was winning. We had a very difficult first half, the heat had gotten to us. We were better in the second half where we passed around the ball in a more productive manner. We substantially deserved the game. Round of 16? We’re thinking game after game, now it’s on to Ireland,” Parolo told Sky Sport.
The Azzurri were able overcome Sweden thanks to an excellent run by Eder and a cool finish from inside the box. Italy silenced Zlatan and finished with their 2nd consecutive cleansheet.
Italy take on Ireland on Wednesday at 9PM local time.
