Miralem Pjanic’s days in Italy are numbered as Barcelona is ready to trigger his release clause.
In the next season, there’s no doubting Pjanic’s desire to win. He’s repeated that to the Spanish media in the mixed zone after the friendly between Bosnia and Spain. Barcelona’s been in contact with Michael Becker, who represents Pjanic.
There are signals of something that could become concrete, €38 million to activate the release clause in Pjanic’s contract and then work out personal terms to bring him to Barcelona.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Juve have all been heavily interested in Pjanic for awhile now, but he hasn’t been ready to leave Roma. But now with multiple suitors stepping up to pay the fee, it seems all but certain that Pjanic will not be in Rome next season.
If Roma do not sell this summer and wait until next season, his clause is reduced to €28 million, so there is definitely an incentive to sell now rather than later, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
