Curci: “I would have stayed with Bologna after relegation.”

Gianluca Curci; currently at Mainz and formerly of Roma, Bologna, Sampdoria and Siena, spoke to Gianlucadimarzio.com and talked about the latter part of his career, before coming to the Bundesliga.

“I was very happy at Bologna, unfortunately I couldn’t stay after they were relegated. I would have really liked to, however other choices were made. That’s the way it was, but I dont throw away any of my experiences.”

“I was in Rome for many years, even though in the latter years many things had changed. I left on good terms, with both my teammates and the board. Many of them wrote to me when my transfer was announced, both De Sanctis and Lobont taught me a lot due to their experience.”

Gianluca Curci was a Roma youth product who debuted with the first team in 2004 at 19 years old. Due to lack of performance in his career, he shuttled around Italy alot with stops at Sampdoria, Siena and Bologna.  This summer the Italian was signed by German club Mainz on a free transfer, he is yet to feature in any matches.
